PocahontasBill Meyer of  Palmer started his involvement in Pocahontas County 4-H when he was 10 years old and joined the Marshall Minutemen 4-H club. Bill was a member for 8 years where he exhibited beef and swine and concluded his early 4-H involvement.by serving on the county 4-H council. 

Bill continued his involvement by volunteering with the fair and assisting with the livestock judging contest annually at the fair. In 1975 Bill took a job teaching VoAg in Palmer and continued as an ag teacher in the county for 39 years. His involvement included serving on various livestock committees, volunteering as a fair board representative, assisting with the annual livestock judging contest. Since retiring from teaching Bill has continued to be involved in Pocahontas 4-H by serving as the the voice of the livestock shows at the fair.  Bill announces all our large animal shows. 

Bill is serving his second term on the Pocahontas County Extension Council, where he is currently serving as Chairman. Bill has been a wonderful mentor to committee members, fairboard members and Extension Council. Bill has served Pocahontas County 4-H in some way for nearly 60 years.  

Pocahontas County thanks Bill for his continued service to Pocahontas County 4-H.
