Monroe CountyKim Wynn is a familiar face in the Monroe County 4-H program. Kim and her husband Steve have dedicated many hours over many years volunteering with the 4-H program. Kim currently serves as a club leader, Exhibit Building superintendent, also member of Monroe County Extension Council and the Fair Board. She was a past Fashion Revue and Clothing Selection Superintendent for four years. Her hard work and dedication has helped to make the best better in Monroe County.

Kim’s 4-H career started when she joined the Troy Good Homemakers, and then the Troy Troopers showing beef, many static exhibits and a rabbit one time. One of her most memorable experiences as a 4-H’er was a Fashion Event ensemble of a vest, pants, shirt and coat she made that went on to the Iowa State Fair.  Kim remembers that her outfit was so hot, and she had to change in a cramped little space, but as Kim told that story, she had a smile on her face and a hearty laugh at the fond memory.

In 1988, Kim, along with Steve, became Leaders for the Troy Troopers 4-H Club.  She held that title for 25 years.  When they handed over the leadership, it had grown to over 70 members. Their children, Lexi and Cody, were also active members of the Troy Troopers 4-H Club.

In 2013 Kim became an advisor to the Youth Council, a role she currently holds.  Many youth have identified Kim as something that they looked up to and has supported them throughout their 4-H Journey. In 2013, Kim also became an Exhibit Building Superintendent.  Kim has led the charge in improving the look of the Exhibit Building on the Fairgrounds

Kim has received many awards over the years, most notably 25 Years of Service and the 4-H Alumni, though her favorite award is being Grandma to Millie and Jax.
