Cherokee CountyLong time Cherokee County residents Bruce and Deena Jones of Aurelia, Iowa have made a lifetime commitment to supporting youth in 4-H. Their commitment is not only at the county level, it also extends to the state level. Bruce and Deena together have served on several boards and committees that have benefited and contributed to Cherokee County Extension and 4-H and Youth programs. At the Fair you will hear Bruce and Deena’s names as sponsors of trophies and awards for the youth. You will also see Bruce and Deena sitting in the stands at these events showing support by attending these activities and making a point to get to know the 4-H youth in Cherokee County.

This year will mark their 30th year of volunteering their time to the Iowa State Fair 4-H Beef Committee. Bruce serves as the Beef Superintendent and Deena has helped keep the office running smoothly. The “Fair” has been a lifelong family tradition for the Jones. Bruce was a 4-H’er himself, he also served as a club leader. Together Bruce and Deena served the role of 4-H parents and have now taken on the role of 4-H Grandparents. Thank you to the Jones for all they have given to the 4-H youth programs.
