Diane HuddleDiane Huddle has been involved with West Pottawattamie 4-H since 1982. She was a member of the Neola Victorettes from 1982-1989 and then a member of the Neola Busy Members from 1989-1991. While in 4-H, she was a member of the County Council from 1988-1991 and a member of the Area Council from 1990-1991.

Even after graduating, Diane stayed involved with 4-H. She has been a leader of the Neola Busy Members 4-H Club for the past 20 years. She is also very active and a pivotal member for 17 years of the West Pottawattamie Youth Committee, serving as chair many times. Diane is always quick to volunteer.  She is a wonderful person to count on to get a job done, whether it is organizing a Visual Arts workshop or securing pizza for 250 4-H members at fair. She always puts in 110%.

Diane has served as the apple pie superintendent for the last 10 years. The Apple Pie Auction raises money to help our 4-H members with educational awards, scholarships, provide workshops, and so much more. Diane organizes the contest, conducts workshops, lines up the judges, makes the labels and bakes the pies. On auction day, she is there to make sure everything runs smoothly. During COVID, unable to have a contest or auction, Diane had the 4-H'ers bake pies at home and donate them to a donor that had given back to the 4-H program. It was a great success! Over the past 10 years, the auction has raised over $225,000, with 2022 being the highest income at a little over $40,000.

Diane says her favorite memory is watching 4-H'ers grow in the program from Cloverbuds to Senior members. It is evident when Diane passes out the scholarship checks to outgoing seniors, that she made an impact on many     4-H'ers in West Pottawattamie, not just the Neola Busy Members where she was a leader.
