Becky LangholzBecky was a member of the Blue Bells 4-H Club in Marshall County. She was an active participant in music, clothing, food and nutrition, home improvement, leather craft, and photography project areas. She was also engaged in leadership and citizenship roles within her community. One of her most memorable experiences was participating in the 4-H exchange program where she switched lives with a 4-H’er from southern Iowa. During her time in 4-H she also had the opportunity to serve as a junior leader which was believed to lead her to lead 4-H clubs as an adult.

Within Madison County, she was club leader of Jefferson Lee J’s 4-H club which her children were members. She currently serves as the communication event superintendent.

Currently, she serves as a club leader in Polk County for the Callanan 4-H Club at Callanan Middle School in Des Moines. She is able to bring her love and passion for 4-H to the youth of Des Moines through this afterschool program. These youth are able to learn and expand their leadership, community service, and communication skills while having to opportunity to participate in other Iowa State Extension and Outreach programs and the ability to exhibit at the Polk County Fair.

Outside of 4-H, Becky is a vocal music teacher at Callanan Middle School in Des Moines. Her dedication to empowering young people and adults around her, as she keeps up with the demands of the diverse needs and interests of the youth of Polk County, is inspiring.
