David & Becky Whited and their son

Becky was a 10-year member of the Garfield Cloverettes in Ida County.  She exhibited static projects in various areas, as well as gave demonstrations and Share the Fun.  She also showed cattle, horses, and rabbits.  Going to the Ida County Fair was considered her vacation, and she looked forward to it every year. She was fortunate to have static projects, dress revue, and Share the Fun go to the state fair. Participating at the state fair was a big deal and a huge honor. She was also a member of the County Council.

David was a 9-year member of the Tilden Tillers of Cherokee County.  David exhibited swine and beef.  He was also active with livestock judging.  His livestock judging team qualified for the state fair contest.

When David and Becky married and had three boys, they could not wait for them to be old enough to join 4-H.  David joined the Marcus Fair board in the late 1990s and has been on it ever since.  He has been on the Cherokee County Extension since 2001.  He has served as President of the Extension Council for 7 years.

When the boys were old enough to join 4-H, Becky became a 4-H leader.  She also became involved as Livestock Judging Superintendent and Overall Showmanship Superintendent.  With only one year of 4-H left for their youngest son, they are proud of the fact that their sons are remaining involved with county and community Fairs.
