Palo Alto County 4-H and the Palo Alto County Fair Board are proud and honored to have Dan Vonnahme from Algona, Iowa as their 2021 inductee to the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame.
Dan’s most significant contribution to 4-H is being a volunteer auctioneer at the Palo Alto County Fair Auction for 38 years. His passion for the livestock industry and his skill as an auctioneer have benefitted the 4-H livestock exhibitors. With his ownership of livestock auction barns in Gowrie and Algona, Dan contributes to 12 fair auctions with both his skills as an auctioneer and also by supporting the premiums of his customers’ children’s 4-H projects.
Dan has always had a way of putting a smile on the face of a nervous livestock exhibitor and making them feel at ease in the sale ring for their final experience of the fair each year.
