Muscatine County Extension and Outreach is honored to nominate Becki Petersen for the 2020 Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame. Becki Petersen

Becki has been involved in 4-H most of her life. As a child, she was a ten-year member of the Green Valley Hustlers 4-H Club, serving as a junior leader her final year. She received her degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education from Iowa State University having started her education at Muscatine Community College.  Becky and her husband, Gary, have farmed for many years in Muscatine County. Becki and Gary’s children were members of the Sweatland 4-H club, for which she was a leader for a combined 17 years.  In her professional life, she worked as a substitute teacher and then found her home at Muscatine County Extension and Outreach as the 4-H county youth coordinator. She served the county for nearly 23 years in that role before retiring in February of 2017. She continues to volunteer for Muscatine County 4-H as a leader of the Sew Creative 4-H Club for the past eight plus years.

Becki has stated that the best part about being involved in 4-H are the people she has met and had the pleasure to work with.

Becki has made a tremendous impact on the lives of many Muscatine youth and families as a parent, volunteer, and 4-H staff person.  We are so grateful for the time, energy, and expertise she has invested in Muscatine County 4-H.
