Val Cedar has tirelessly served the 4-H youth of Cherokee County for nineteen years.  She has a great knowledge not only of horses, but also of youth development.  She is always willing to share helpful hints to help the rider and horse work as one.  She guided the club in building an announcer and concession stand, covered bleachers as well as raising funds to replace the horse barn.

Emphasizing community service with her 4-H club is also one of Val’s commitments - her club participated in the annual Cherokee Christmas parade, Festival of Trees, and donates a book basket to the Cherokee Library’s annual silent auction fundraiser.  They also helped raise funds donating to many county and state activities.

Along with her involvement with 4-H, Val is chairperson of the Cherokee PRCA Rodeo.  This annual event includes not only three rodeo performances, but many other rodeo-related activities.

Val has been a 4-H leader, superintendent and still is a member of the youth committee.  She has a love for working with youth and livestock.

Val goes above and beyond to help others.
