Cindy Erickson has been a Carroll County 4-H Youth Development volunteer as a leader of the Carroll Champs 4-H club for the past 15 years. While she was not in 4-H herself she was able the see the positive impact 4-H has on youth. She became involved with the club when her children were members. She started out as an assistant leader and is now the organizational leader. She is open to change and has adapted well to the changes made to the program over the years. She continues to volunteer and contributes to positive youth development.
Cindy has dedicated many hours providing 4-H’ers and their families with fun-filled, educational experiences. She worked hard to reach out to members of the community to showcase the career and vocational opportunities surrounding Carroll County. She is always open to member ideas and meeting the members’ interest when planning educational tours. Cindy made learning, leading, and communication fun for all members. She inspires youth to be the best they can be, she encourages the 4-H members when they are hesitant to try new things, and complements the members even if their projects did not turn out like they expected.
Everywhere you turn Cindy is there to help the 4-H members in the club she leads. She is happy and makes others excited to help. Whether she is setting up an educational outing for the club, organizing fruit sales, food drives, working at the fair, or organizing the Easter egg hunt she is always reliable and happy to help.
Cindy volunteers in several other organizations in addition to 4-H including her church youth group, Carroll area FFA alumni and Relay for Life. She provides 4-H’ers the opportunity to give back to the community the same way she has given back to the community. She is helping the members of the club develop important life skills, communication and leadership skills, helping them become productive citizens in their community.
Cindy is someone who 4-H’ers and families look up to and respect because she takes time to volunteer and share her skills. Thank you, Cindy, for your support and dedication to 4-H. You are an important part of Carroll County’s 4-H program success.
