Margaret WoltmanMargaret Woltman began her 4-H membership at age 9 with the Cavaliers.  She won several awards throughout her 4-H career.

She was a 4-H leader for many years.  Margaret still helps with evaluating 4-H record books, writing comments for static judging, and is a big 4-H supporter of the Cherokee County Fair.

Margaret attended business college after high school and then worked for a law firm in Sioux City.  She and her husband Roger are parents of 2 children.  They live on a farm and are livestock producers.  Margaret watched her grandchildren and many others grow up in 4-H.

She has been very active in her community; helping with the MOPS program (Mothers of Preschoolers), coordinating programs and food preparation for Wednesday night church programs.  She is a member of the Presbyterian Church serving as trustee, Presbyterian Women’s Club, chairman of the funeral lunch committee, initial member and current chairman of Sermons Ala Carte.  She belongs to the P.E.O. service organization.  She is a board member for the Cherokee Airport, and chairman of the Flight Breakfast.  She serves as chairman of the Cherokee Archives at the Cherokee Public Library.

This Iowa 4-H Hall of Famer truly lives “The service we give is the price we pay for the space we take” motto.
