Janice HalderJanice Halder’s 4-H career as a member began in 4th grade and ended in 5th grade!!  The club disbanded and became an all-boys club! We are so glad ALL youth have the 4-H opportunity today!

Janice became a leader when her children began 4-H in 4th grade and continued to lead the Pocahontas County Dover Doers 4-H Club for 25 years.  Janice enjoyed the many activities her club was involved in over the years.

Some of the activities that became tradition for the Dover Doers 4-H Club was to hold a bake sale during a parish fish fry with the proceeds funding an educational family weekend outing every year.  The club had a booth at RAGBRAI 3 different years when they traveled through Pocahontas County.  Janice enjoyed meeting all the different bike riders.

Service projects were always a big part of the Dover Doers 4-H Club during Janice’s leadership.  The club planted trees, painted fire hydrants in Varina, provided an Easter Egg Hunt in Varina, painted bleachers at the ball field were just a few of the clubs favorite service projects.  Janice enjoyed watching the youth grow over the years.  The club had interesting learning activities and projects during their club meetings.

Not only was Janice an energetic 4-H volunteer, but she served in other capacities in her community and served on the Pocahontas County Extension Council.
