David Seilstad

David Seilstad has worked for ISU Extension and Outreach for over 25 years. He is the Youth Program Specialist for Region 17 which is made up of 7 southwest area counties with his office in Harrison County.

David started the First Lego League in Harrison County several years ago which has grown from 2 clubs to 8 clubs plus a Jr. First Lego Club and an IT Adventures Team (high school youth). David oversees the clubs and their leaders. He is always ready to give them ideas or answer any questions they may have.

On top of that, in 2014 he started 2 Hyper Stream Clubs. These clubs built underwater robots, mounted cameras to them and ran tests in a couple bodies of water. The participants loved it! David is always ready to help youth with any questions they have or help them find needed information.

He works with Day Camps, leaders training, fairs, and anything else the counties need. David is in charge of the Region 17 Leadership Council. He helps to coordinate the Region 12, 17, and18 for 5th and 6th graDavid Seilstad receiving awardde Junior Camp held yearly at the State 4-H Camping Center. David also started the Region 17 Table Setting Contest. These are just a few of his accomplishments and contributions to 4-H, Harrison County and Region 17.

David is always there for everyone when they need something. David loves working with the youth of the region and the youth love him also. The adults are also glad to have David’s help. David Seilstad is very passionate about 4-H.
