Gene & Shirlee BrunscheenGene and Shirlee have been involved in the Jones County 4-H Youth program since they were both 4-H’ers members.  They were active 4-H members successfully exhibiting steers and heifers at the county and state levels. They treasure the memories of their 4-H careers and the many friendships they made along the way.

They raised their daughters to be actively involved in 4-H by following in their footsteps accumulating many championships at the county and state levels showing beef heifers.

Shirlee has been a 4-H leader and served on the county Youth Committee. She currently serves as the county fair youth beef superintendent, as the Vice Chairperson on the Jones County Extension Council, as a Jones County Fair Board member, and is a member of the county Livestock Advisory Board that assists in coordinating and improving the 4-H and FFA livestock show activities at the Great Jones County Fair.

Gene was a member of the Wyoming Fair Board for over 45 years, most recently serving as President .  He was also a long time board member of the Jones County Cattlemen Association and Great Jones County Fair Board.

Gene and Shirlee have two daughters, Lisa (Todd) Rickels and Kris (Lucas) Gobeli and three granddaughters Kacie and Paige Rickels, and Hannah Gobeli.
