Delores SchultzDelores Schultz has been active in 4-H for nearly 70 years.   She was a 4-H member under Charlotte Olmstead, who was very important to Delores and the path she took with 4-H.

Delores was the organizational leader for 27 years for the Peppy Pals 4-H club.  The Peppy Pals was one of the largest clubs in Clayton County.  Many new programs and events were started under her leadership of the club.  The club had a project day, an achievement show, a Christmas Tea and a yearly educational 4-H trip to name a few.

Delores was a leader when she was approached about taking over the food stand at the fairgrounds.  Many hours of work were dedicated to the running of the 4-H food stand and it is still being run today by the Peppy Pals/Mendon Hustlers 4-H Club.

During those years she also served on the County Extension Board and was instrumental in hiring Jim Hosch, CEED.  Delores has always felt it takes the effort of the extension office and board, the club, the leaders and most importantly the 4-H family to have a successful 4-H program.

Delores served as a Clayton County Supervisor for 8 years.  She has also been very active with her church serving as the Sunday School Superintendent, holding many offices on the church council and instrumental in many new building projects being done for the church.

Delores and her husband Bob raised 5 children, who were all active in the 4-H program and now the last of her grandchildren are making the most of the 4-H programs of Clayton County.

Delores’s goal is still to “Make the best Better”.
