Garth and Nancy Griffin have been chosen as Chickasaw County’s 2012 Hall of Fame recipients. Both Garth and Nancy were members of clubs in Chickasaw County.
Some of the project areas that Garth took interest in were beef, swine and crops. He earned many awards at the county level. As soon as Garth graduated from high school he took on a role of being a club leader and did so for several years. He served on the County Extension Council and helped with the beef project area by volunteering his time and service as a superintendent.
Nancy’s project areas of interest were Food and Nutrition, Clothing, Photography, Home Improvement, Citizenship and Leadership. She also earned many awards at the county level. During her high school years, Nancy served on the County Council. After high school there was a need for another club leader and Nancy volunteered her time. Since Chickasaw County has had the Bucket Bottle calf project in the county, Nancy has been the superintendent and she currently serves as chair of the County Extension Council.
