2011 Hancock CountyMarilyn Leerar began her 4-H career in Emmet County as an 8 year member of the Ellsworth Go-Getters 4-H Club. She was selected as the Outstanding 4-H Girl as an eighth grader, served as a county vice president, was a delegate to the State 4-H Conference and sang in the State Conference 4-H Chorus.

After graduating from Mankato State with a degree in Vocational Home Economics Marilyn was the Extension Home Economist for Chickasaw and Bremer counties for 5 years.

Since living in Hancock County Marilyn served eleven years as 4-H leader for the Bingham Best 4-H Club. She has volunteered as clothing project leader and judge for local achievement shows.

And for the past 38 years she has been a county and state fair judge. Marilyn was recognized with the 4-H Alumni Award in 1983 for her service to Hancock County youth.
