2011 Franklin CountyAnyone who has traveled the country roads in the Midwest has seen the Sukup name on many grain storage bins, but it is the people behind the name that have made more of an impression in the minds of Franklin County 4-H families.

Charles and Mary Beth Sukup have played an important role in developing the 4-H program in their county.  Charles is a 9 year alumni of the West Fork Winners 4-H Club, and as an adult volunteer was a welding project leader and served on the Iowa 4-H Foundation for 6 years.  Mary Beth served on the Franklin County 4-H Foundation for 6 years.  The Sukup Manufacturing Company, Sheffield has been a long supporter of the Franklin County 4-H Senior Awards Trip to Chicago.

Charles told us, “4-H has been a great time for me and my wife, Mary, to work with our children on activities that we would not have done otherwise.

4 H is a terrific opportunity for every youth to develop their abilities and leadership capabilities.”
