2004 Montgomery County - Helen ArcherHelen Archer is a long-standing 4-H leader.  She was a Page County 4-H’er in 1946.  She became a 4-H Horse and pony assistant leader in 1967 (2 years after the horse and pony show started at the county fair). In 1969 she became the horse and pony leader.  She continued to be a leader with them for almost 24 years. She then continued to help at horse practices until 2003.  Along with that she did numerous things to help with the girls 4-H club in which both of her girls enjoyed membership.  She also worked with three grandchildren that had horses and ponies in 4-H.  She and her husband sponsored many trophies and awards at the county fair over the years. She retired from work at Parker Hannifin Corporation in 1991.  He husband passed away in 1996.

Helen has also helped as a writer for static exhibits at the county fair for many years.

Helen still remains in the background ready and eager to help 4-H’ers in need of her assistance.  She will always cherish the years of 4-H memories with the kids and other leaders she worked with.
