2003 Clayton County - Helmuth LandtHelmuth Landt has been a dedicated and loyal 4-H supporter for many years. He became involved with the 4H program when his children Paul and Lynne joined 4H. In 1973 Helmuth became the organizational leader of the Monona Jr. Feeders 4H Club. Helmuth was 60 years old when he assumed the club’s leadership position. He was a club leader until the age of 90 when his health would no longer permit him to take on an active role. During his 30-year tenure as club leader Helmuth was a role model and mentor to hundreds of youth. The 4H club and its members especially took on special meaning to Helmuth after the tragic death of his son in a car accident.

Helmuth is very active in his church. He served as church organist until he retired last year.

Helmuth and his wife Idella will be married for 51 years this year. They have a daughter Lynne (husband-Tim) and 4 grandchildren.
