Building on his own successful experience as a 4-H member, Carl Willhoit has dedicated himself to the Wapello County 4-H program and Extension. Carl has been a local club leader for over 25 years and is a past member of the County 4-H committee. He has been a member of the Wapello County Fair Board for 50 years, where he served as president and vice-president, and superintendent of open class cattle at the Wapello County Fair. He is currently an active member of the Wapello County 4-H Expo, Inc. as well as vice-president of the Wapello county 4-H Foundation.
While on the Wapello County Fair Board, Carl worked closely with the Wapello County Extension Director and Fair Board President to raise $30,000 in donations to fund a new building at the Wapello County Fairgrounds. This new building consists of a show ring for livestock, a 4-H office, the Fair Board meeting room and 4-H food stand. Carl continues to serve an instrumental role in our 4-H program. His positive attitude and leadership abilities has impacted and inspired both the youth and the adults in the county.
