2002 Plymouth County - Lowell BaldwinLowell has been a dedicated 4-H volunteer for 27 years serving as a leader for the Liberty Perry Pacers 4-H Club.  He started his 4-H career as a charter member of the Johnson Jr. Farmers 4-H Club near Akron when the club organized in 1940.  He and his wife, the late Joyce Baldwin are the parents of three children; Dennis, Cheryl, and Doug.

Lowell served in the United States Army during World War II.  He and his wife raised their family on the farm where Lowell still resides.  He has been a life long member of the Adaville United Methodist Church where he has served as a church trustee.  In his semi-retirement he continues to enjoy taking part in the farming and livestock operation.

Lowell has dedicated many hours of service to the young boys and girls in his community through his work as a 4-H leader.  Lowell continues to demonstrate a caring concern for each 4-H member with all the enthusiasm and eagerness that a first year leader shows.  His longevity as a leader has not lessened his enthusiasm and commitment to the Iowa
4-H program.
